* EliteXC has recently made two big headlines: Nick Diaz and Kimbo Slice! Nick Diaz is a former UFC fighter and one of the most talented MMA athletes in the world. He recently signed a long-term deal to fight for EliteXC ( /). Kimbo Slice is an Internet phenomenon. He comes from a bare knuckle boxing background, but after some serious training with Bas Rutten has successfully made the transition to MMA ( Head over to their pages and give ‘em a SMACK to welcome them to the ProElite community!

If you haven’t had the chance yet, make sure to start your page today:

* On October 26th we have a large ShoXC event at the Chumash Casino and Resort. Featured on the card are Javier “Showtime” Vazquez, Aaron Rosa, Malaipet, and many other future stars. Tentatively we have another Mega-Chat in the forums with several fighters from the card, leading up to the show on October 26th (More on the live chat when we get the details!)

* The show itself will be broadcast live on Showtime at 11pm PT/ET, with the undercard live streaming at 6:30pm PT/9:30pm ET. The Undercard features several great fighters and is headlined by two heavyweight showdowns: Shane Del Rosario vs. Amedeo Viola and Fabricio Camoes vs. TBA. If you haven’t heard of these two, watch the live stream on (Stay tuned for more information on upcoming fights as it becomes available. Fight card subject to change.)

* Frank Shamrock stopped by the offices for a brief conversation with our own “Yac Man” Ron Yacovetti (YouTube him, by the way for a few laughs). Frank is always up front and great for about 13 minutes of soundbites. It’s a revealing conversation about his training, the IFL, and his views on martial arts….and only brings it to you: That wraps it up for this week’s happenings. Stay tuned for more news and updates next week. If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Perdew at or visit his Web site at and “Smack” him.
