OTM sponsored fighter, Rafael Lovato Jr, is in Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi Pro World No-Gi & Gi Championships. This past weekend the No-Gi portion of the competition took place and Rafael fought very well defeating 3 opponents, including the Absolute Champion of the event, Rodolfo Viera, and 2010 World Champion, Bernardo Faria!
Rafael defeated Bernardo Faria by a score of 7-0 in the semifinals and in the finals Rafael rallied back against Rodolfo after suffering a big takedown, to take the title in the last 30 seconds, by a score of 4-2.
Rafael will also be competing again this weekend again in the World Pro Gi Championships and we wish him all the best.
When Rafael isn’t traveling the world for competitions, he is teaching and training everyday at Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
