RING OF FIRE 24 news

Tickets for the next RING OF FIRE event are now on sale. The June 17th event is the 24th installment for the promotion and is using the name INTEGRITY for the show.

“There has been quite a focus on MMA in Colorado lately, specifically on the promotions and the people behind them. I chose the title INTEGRITY for this show, as it just seemed to sum up what ROF is all about in this competitive climate. There are quite a few promotions in the area now. More than one seem to be making headlines with frauds, scams, and high profile legal problems. Everything but MMA. Someone said that there is no such thing as bad publicity, but when it comes to MMA I don’t think that is true. I think negative press can have disastrous effects on the sport as a whole” said promoter Sven Bean.

“ROF is and always will be about the sport and the athletes. I want the fans to know that they can count on ROF as a great event to come watch the best the area has to offer in combat sports. I want them to know that when they come to the venue they will get exactly what they paid for. High level, well matched, professionally presented MMA matches. It is what I have been doing since day one, and will continue to do so for a long time to come”

The main event for ROF 24: INTEGRITY features the return of one of the sport’s best grapplers, Jay Jack. Jack was recently promoted to black belt in BJJ, and has a 12-5 MMA record. His last ROF appearance saw him fall to ROF Welter Weight Champion Thomas Schulte, but he has gone 2-0 since that fight finishing both his opponents with submissions. Facing off against Jack is one of the fastest rising stars of the midwest, Chad Reiner. Reiner is one of the best conditioned athletes in the game and holds an 11-1 record. The versatile fighter has just enough of everything in his arsenal to be a threat. Just enough wrestling, just enough striking, just enough submissions. Just enough to make a complete MMA fighter. At stakes in this match will be the number one ranking at welter weight with the winner guaranteed a shot at Schulte’s belt in the fall.

The full card will be released soon, but features some of the promotion’s top athletes. Knock Out artist Donald COWBOY Cerrone returns to ROF hoping to add to his undefeted MMA record. 2005 Pan American JiuJitsu Champion Eliot Marshall will make his professional debut at light heavyweight. The hard hitting Chrisanne BRICKHOUSE Roseliep will appear under K-1 rules.

One of the feature matches on the card will be a professional Muay Thai match in the women’s division as Sarah Ponce (TX) faces Angela Hayes (CO). Ponce is known as much for her fighting prowess as she is for her modeling accolades. She is the 2003 Swimsuit Model of the year as well as the 2004 IKF National Champion. Angela Hayes is a fourth degree black belt, multiple Karate Champion and a veteran of Chuck Norris’ World Combat League.
