RING OF FIRE 26 Main Event News

KAISUKE has injured his back and will not be able to challenge Christian Allen for the ROF Championship. Replacing Kaisuke will be BJJ fighter Raphael Assuncao. Originally from Resice, Brazil, Assuncao is undefeated in MMA with a 7-0 record.

His most recent win is against a very tough Joe Lauzon in the AFC. This victory is worth mentioning as Lauzon has been scouted by the UFC. Assuncao is a brown belt in BJJ. He is 2002 and 2003 Pan American Champion, as well as two time Gracie- Arnold Submission champion. In 2004 he was crowned the SHIDOKAN US Light Weight Champion. This is no small task as the Shidokan is known as the Triathlon of Combat Sports. He also recently participated in a PKA kick boxing match with the controversial Manny Reyes Jr. at the Battle Of Atlanta. Assuncao went the distance in his first foray under strange rules and was able to get the nod on all the judges score cards.

“Injuries are part of the sport. I’m used to it by now. But sometimes the fight gods smile on you and you get a better match than what was scheduled” said promoter Sven Bean. “Allen versus Assunco is one of those times. Christian and Raphael will make for a fantastic match. On paper it seems like Raphael will have the edge on the ground and Christian will be the better stand up fighter, but this is MMA which tends to be the great equalizer. I can honestly say that I am more excited about this new match up and think the ROF fans just got a bonus!”TICKETS STILL AVAILABLEROF #26: RELENTLESS!!
