Rising Gracie Jiu Jitsu stars shine on the Bay Area

Andrew and Gabriel Alviar from Team Ralph Gracie in Dublin, California have been placing in the top 3 spots in many of the major tournaments nationwide. Andrew Alviar (age 12) and Gabriel Alviar (age 10) began training almost 3 years ago. Their training was never taken too seriously, until 2008 when Ralph Gracie himself took a notice of the boys and saw their potential. Ralph worked with the boys and got them interested in competing. After dominating in some of the local venues, the two brothers along with their parents decided to travel and compete on a national level in tournament circuits such as Grappler’s Quest, NAGA, and Pan Kids. Within 8 months the two went from winning in the beginner division to dominating in the expert division. The Alviar brother’s have a genuine love for the sport of BJJ and feel fortunate to have awesome teammates in their Dublin Academy. Most of all, they have much gratitude towards their mentor Ralph Gracie for showing them the Gracie Jiu Jitsu way of life.

Their accomplishments are as follows:
