Ryan Jimmo Dead at 34

MMA and UFC veteran Ryan Jimmo has passed away at the age of 34. In a very nasty incident, Jimmo was in, what can only been seen from police reports as a, verbal altercation with two white males in a truck and when Jimmo went to walk back to his car, the car proceeded to strike Jimmo. The former UFC fighter passed away from his injuries and the two are currently on the run.

Ryan Jimmo was a very tough Light-Heavyweight in the cage but a sweetheart in training and in life. He trained at Power and Fitness MMA with the likes of CB Dollaway and Ryan Bader. After losing his debut, Jimmo went on to win six straight fights before trying out for TUF 8 where he lost his fight to make it into the house. He went back to the regional circuit to ply his trade and extended his winning streak to 16 before being picked up by the promotion.

He was already a champion in the Canadian promotion MFC and had beaten many former and future UFC fighters in Jesse Forbes, Sokojou, Marvin Eastman and Zak Cumming among other. While not always the most entertaining fighter, he made the most of his debut knocking out Anthony perosh in just seven seconds which tied him for fastest knockout in the Octagon.

Form there, he had a lot of ups and downs going 2-4 and having some of his fights marred by injuries. Ultimately, he left the promotion dissatisfied with pay due to the recent addition of the Reebok kits. He never fought again in the little over the year since he left the UFC and will be missed. Many people have already expressed this sentiment before, but his life as tragically cut short by senseless violence. Hopefully his murderers will be brought to justice shortly and Jimmo’s family can get some sort of closure on this terrible incident.
