Thanks from The United Gracie Team!

From The United Gracie Team!

To All Participants, Coaches, and Parents, who participated in the most successful United Gracie Jiu Jitsu Tournament 2005 of all the tournaments we have held:

My brother Ralph and myself, Charles Gracie, personally want first of all to thank all the United Gracie staff members who gave us their time and efforts without whom our event could not have been conducted.

We also of course want to extend our hands in thanks to all our sponsors who have been with us since our first tournament; as well as those who have joined our event more recently, all of whom contributed so much to both the financial support as well as the quality products and services they offer both at our event, as well as through the advertising they place during our Tournament.

Lastly we want to thank all the competitors who came and gave their best efforts on the mats. This years United Gracie Tournament was welcome to almost 500 participants from over 40 different schools and academies as well as independent fighters.

This letter is a letter of thanks to all of you for helping us someday to make the United Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Tournament not just one of the best in the Greater Bay Area, but one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament in the entire Country. With your continued support and improvement and growth we may someday, God willing, achieve our goal.

Without growth nothing can continue to prosper. Without attracting new participants growth is not possible. Without constantly making our tournament better and better each year we can not achieve our goal. We always feel that when we do anything in or for the sport, we represent not just our Tournament or Academies, but this history of our family and the traditions and standards that were established long ago. This is not always easy but we try our best and we believe that each tournament we conduct must be held to the highest standards of professionalism in every way that is possible. The changes we made for this tournament were a huge success. The competitors and coaches that were there were able to notice that everything was running smoothly. These changes prove that we are on the right path to allow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to remain as realistic and close to this philosophy as possible. The purpose of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is to submit or completely dominate your opponent. These changes have the potential to increase the action of the matches as well as enjoyment of spectators.

So once again thanks for your participation in this years tournament. We hope to see you coming back every year. If you have something that you noticed from this years tournament that you think we could improve, please take the time to send us a your suggestions.

Sincerely,

Charles & Ralph Gracie United Gracie Team
