Finland’s premiere mixed martial arts event returns to Helsinki on the 20th of April for a night of top-level fighting action. The Cage Vol. 7 will feature an exciting main event as rivals Miika Mehmet and Toni Valtonen clash in a heavyweight showdown for local supremacy. Also scheduled is four-man welterweight tournament which features up-and-coming fighters from Finland and abroad.
In 2006, The Cage started cooperation with the Japan-based World Wide Cage Network (WWCN). The organization has set it’s goal on promoting caged mixed martial arts events worldwide and to strengthen cooperation between different promotions. Long-term prospects include unifying regulations and competition rules to further promote the sport. Currently, the WWCN comprises of Cage Force (Japan), Cage Warriors (England), Pangea Fight (California), Rumble on the Rock (Hawaii), The Cage (Finland) and Warrior’s Realm (Australia).
The event will be sanctioned by the Finnish Mixed Martial Arts Federation and it is promoted by Nordic Fight Sport – a company that introduced the UFC-style octagon to MMA competitions in Finland.
