Brown Belt Divisions


We have received a couple inquiries about whether there will be Brown Belt divisions at the U.S. Open, in light of the Brown-Black Belt Team Challenge. YES, there will be brown belt divisions: Adult, Master, and Seniors. In fact we already have one brown belt registered, waiting for the rest of you to step up to the plate. Check out the competitor`s list to see who else is signed up for the U.S. Open so far.

Competitor Check-in for the Tournament


We encourage everyone to check in at the Claudio Fransa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy to receive your competitor packet and t-shirt on Friday, October 21st, from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm.


Bring valid identification such as a driver’s license or passport. The packets contain tickets for entry into the event (without which no one, not even competitors, will be admitted) as well as other useful items, including information about hotels, parking, and restaurants in Santa Cruz.


Those unable to check in on Friday may do so at the Civic on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.


Weigh-ins


Note that we will weigh each competitor before his or her first match. You get ONLY ONE CHANCE to make weight WITH YOUR GI ON, so PLEASE be sure to register for the correct category in order to avoid DISQUALIFICATION. Click here to check your weight division with a gi.
