UF 198 Matches to Make

Stipe Miocic vs. Alistair Overeem

Miocic won the biggest fight of his career and now he may have the biggest challenge of his career waiting for him. Overeem has rattled off four straight wins on his march to the title since his last loss to Ben Rothwell. Yes, JDS has a win over the new champion, but overeem knocked him out. Ultimately, this is the Heavyweight fight to make after miocic was bested by potent strikers JDS and Stefan Struve. If he can get past Overeem, he may have a long line of wins ahead of him.

Fabricio Werdum vs. JDS

Werdum made a mistake, got caught, and now has to rebuild after that loss. A rematch from the last man to knock him out so bad would be a great start. JDS just picked up a big win over Ben Rothwell and wants to get back to the title, especially since Cain is not holding it. He knocked out Werdum once, so lets see if he can do it again.

Jacare vs. Michael Bisping

Yoel Romero’s suspension ends in about a month and regardless of what you think of the man he still has a win over Jacare. It is hard to deny him and give someone else a title shot that he has beat. That means Jacare has to take another shot and this will come against a man that believes he deserves a title shot too in Michael Bisping. After his win over Anderson Silva, Bisping thought he was next in line for a shot too, but now may have to face off with he grappling ace from Brazil.

Vitor Belfort vs. Uriah Hall

Belfort has not been anyone not named Dan Henderson in the last three years. Hall was supposed to have a fight that could make him a star in facing Anderson Silva, but now he should face off with Belfort to see if the “Lion” still has it.

Mauricio Rua vs. Nikita Krylov

Rua won and is now on a two fight winning streak, his best in seven years. Krylov has rattled off four straight against not always the best competition. Rua would be a big test for him and another chance for RUa to get his fighting legs back underneath him.

Demain Maia vs. Carlos Condit

Maia wants a title shot, but if Stephen Thompson comes out ahead of Rory MacDonald next month it is hard to deny him after he has beat a former champion and a former number one contender. Maia only beat Matt Brown. Conduit is another man who wants a crack at the title, so let the two face off to see who deserves it more.
