UFC 178 Future Matches

UFC 178 Future Matches

UFC 178 Future Matches has Demetrious Johnson on a tear who will be his next fight in the 125 pound division.

UFC 178 Future Matches Main Card

Demetrious Johnson vs. Jon Lineker or Kyoji Horiguchi

Demetrious Johnson still has options but they are limited. Lineker is fighting with Ian McCall and if he wins he should be next in line. If McCall wins, then he should still need more wins since he has already had two fights with Johnson and n one of them he was dominated. Horiguchi is 14-1 with nine wins by knockout. John Dodson proved heavy hands can hurt Johnson and so it makes since to match him up with a heavy hitter.

Donald Cerrone vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Cerrone continues his impressive run by going 8-2 in his last ten fights. Cerrone’s only nock against him is his knockout loss to Anthony Pettis and loss to Rafael Dos Anjos. A win over Nurmagomedov would change dos Anjos loss cause Nurmagomedov has beat him. That would also put him 7-1 since the loss to Pettis which could warrant a rematch.

Conor McGregor vs. Loser of Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes

McGregor says he is a champion but he still needs to prove it. With Swanson and Bermudez above him, if he wants to skip the line then he needs to beat a title ready opponent. McGregor should fight the loser of the upcoming title fight if he wants to jump the contender line even more.

Yoel Romero vs. Jacare Souza

Regardless of the happenings during the fight, Romero came out the winner with another knockout. At age 37, he does not have a ton of years left in the sport. Souza needs another fight since the title fight was pushed back and Romero seems like the logical fight.

Cat Zingano vs. Ronda Rousey

She was the number one contender and won her fight in impressive fashion. This means give Zingano her title shot.

UFC 178 Future Matches Undercard

Dominick Cruz vs. T.J. Dillashaw

Cruz never truly lost his belt and no matter how long the fight lasted, he proved he is still one of the best. He deserves a chance to reclaim his title.

Jorge Masvidal vs. Jim Miller

Masvidal picked up a pretty decent win but it was not that impressive. Miller at this point has become a gatekeeper after repeated losses. He would make the next logical step up in competition for the former street fighter.
