UFC 179 Future Matches to Make will let you know who we think the winners of UFC 179 should face.

UFC 179 Future Matches

UFC 179 Future Matches has a long time champion looking for a challenge. Who will Aldo fight next?

UFC 179 Future Matches Winners

Jose Aldo vs. Cub Swanson or Conor McGregor

Aldo may be in line for another rematch, because it Cub Swanson defeats Frankie Edgar he has done enough to deserve another shot at the title. If Edgar wins though eh should go against another fighter before another title shot. That means there is time for McGregor to slip in to face the champion. It is the fight every one wants to see, but he should not cut Swanson in line.

Phil Davis vs. Rashad Evans

This is another rematch, but it will be a good test to show us where both fighters are since the first time they fought. Davis has gone on a 4-1 streak with his only loss coming to Anthony Johnson, but Evans has been out almost a year after going 2-2 with losses to Jon Jones and Lil Nog. If both want to fight for a title match them up to see who has what it takes to still be on top.

Darren Elkins vs. Nik Lentz

Both are grinding fighters who do not put on that interesting of matches. Both at one time were top ten but still float around the top 15, but only one of them can stay. Their style of fighting hopefully will cancel each other out.

Niel Magny vs. Rick Story

Magny has won five straight so it is time for a jump up in competition while Story still needs to secure himself with some more decent wins. Story finally has won two back to back for the first time in a long time. Magny has won five straight, so let’s see who can keep their streak alive.

UFC 179 Future Matches Losers

Chad Mendes vs. Frankie Edgar

Mendes had a valiant effort against Aldo, but it was not enough unfortunately. He needs to rebuild and there is still many match ups for him at 145 unless he drops down to 135. If Edgar losses to Swanson it would be a good fight, and even if he losses. Edgar still needs another matchup before fighting Aldo again, and trying to secure a good win over Aldo’s toughest test could be the logical next fight.

Glover Teixeira vs. Dan Henderson

Two fighters with no real spot int he pecking order of 205, but they both have a decent name to draw fans. Sounds like the perfect headliner of a FX card or a co-main event of a PPV. Both just want to stand and punch each other so let them while the fans enjoy.
