UFC Fight Night 63

UFC Fight Night 63 has a matchup between to top five featherweights who both have losses to current champion Jose Aldo. With no one else to face besides fresh contenders it is time to face off with each other.

Ricardo Lamas and Chad Mendes are set to face off with each other. Lamas has won two straight since losing his title fight. A win over the ultra tough Hacran Dias and he starched the red hot Dennis Bermudez in a little over three minutes of the first round. Chad Mendes won five straight with four finishes to get his rematch with Jose Aldo. It was an ultra competitive and fun fight but ultimately he lost again. Now, they both will try to gain a rematch with a win in this fight.

Also set for UFC Fight Night 63 is a lightweight matchup between Bobby Green and Jorge Masvidal. Hopefully third time is the charm considering these two have almost fought twice before. They were linked to fight in Strikeforce and at UFC 178. Masvidal is 6-1 in the Octagon while Green lost his first fight to Edson Barboza.

Also, Michael Chiesa was hoping to get a rematch after losing a fight to Joe Lauzon by doctor’s stoppage. Instead, he will face off with Canadian Mitch Clarke. Clarke has won his last two fights in the UFC after losing his first two. One of those wins was a submission win over the currently streaking Al Iaquinta. Chiesa just had the second loss of his career to Lauzon the first being to the aforementioned Masvidal. Now, both will have a chance to continue their march up the ranks but only one can make it come this April.
