UFC Fight Night 69 Predictions

UFC Fight Night 69 Predictions: Main Event

Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Jessica Penne

In the main event we have the newly crowned Female Strawweight champion looking to put her title on the line for the first time and defend it. She take on Penne a former champion in Invictia FC but at a lower weight class. Jedrzejczyk is going to have the striking advantage over almost every foe and while Penne has decent striking it is not nearly as crisp as the champion. Penne does have great grappling but she has to get it to the ground to use it and if Esparza could not get it to the ground then it is doubtful that Penne will be able to. Look for the champion to retain with a second or third round TKO.

UFC Fight Night 69 Predictions: Co-Main Event

Dennis Siver vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri

In the co-main event, two stalwart fighters will face off to keep relevant at featherweight. Silver has been less successful at 145 since dropping from Lightweight. He has gone 3-2 and one fight over turned due to a positive drug test. He has not finished one fight and has been finished in both of his losses. Kawajiri has done better going 5-1 with four finishes in those wins. His only loss was a close fight to Clay Guida. He is returning from a detached retina so it is hard to range how that will affect his fight game. Still, Siver looks to be a little bit past his prime while Kawajiri looks to have enough to pick up a decision win.

UFC Fight Night 69 Predictions: Undercard

Alan Patrick vs. Mairbek Taisumov

An undefeated and untested talent in Patrick faces off with the veteran in Taisumov. Patrick has shown a well rounded skill set but he has not been drug into tough waters in a fight by someone and pulled it off with heart. Considering that Taisumov can finish the fight no matter where it goes it is very likely Patrick will be in trouble at some point in the bout. Look for Taisumov to pull off a win here but Patrick to only grow from this loss.
