USA Wrestling played a critical role in my development. The exposure to freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling enhanced my skills and confidence tremendously and helped me become a State Champion and earn a college scholarship. Earning a “double” Junior National Championship by winning both styles was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
When I was a senior in high school, I watched the Olympics on TV and saw many of my heroes win Olympic Gold. I had met and learned from many of these legends at summer camps, and it was while watching these USA Wrestling athletes excel that my Olympic dream became a concrete goal for me. I am grateful that USA Wrestling helped prepare me to excel in our sport so that I could make our US Olympic Team. USA Wrestling and the NYAC invested tens of thousands of dollars and many hundreds of hours into my development, and the knowledge and experience I gained was priceless. Representing USA Wrestling and our country in the Olympics was the culmination of over a decade of commitment to excellence.

2007 U.S. World Team Trials — June 9-10; Las Vegas, Nevada
The USA Wrestling World Team Trials features the best Olympic-level wrestlers in the nation battling for coveted positions on Team USA. This event will determine the 2007 U.S. World Team that will compete at the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan in all three Olympic wrestling styles: men’s freestyle, men’s Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle.
