Twelve boutsof intense Mixed Martial Arts fighting to be featured in 30 footcage




RICHMOND, VA.The Alltel Pavilion at the VCU StuartC. Siegel Center will be hosting its first MixedMartial Arts event Friday, January 19th. Valhalla 4, “The Conquest” will feature a variety of eliteathletes, both men and women, in a large range of weight classes.




TheMMA (Mixed Martial Arts) event is held in a 30ft cage and is sanctioned by theGlobal Combat Alliance. The GCA provides fair rule sets and a sanctioning bodyfor amateur mixed martial arts events on the East Coast.




“We’re very excited about MMA coming to the heart ofRichmond and tothe VCU campus. The sport has grown tremendously over the last couple of yearsand has become very popular in the State of Virginia,” said MMA Institute Owner RickMcCoy. McCoy’s school has 6 fighters on the Valhalla 4 card.




Doors to the event will open at 6PM, with fights startingat 7PM. Tickets are available by either calling the VCU box office at 828-RAMSor visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Students presenting a valid student ID at purchase timewill receive a $5 discount.
