Weekend Fight Wrap-up

While there is still no big promotion fights in the next few weeks, there is still some big fights that come up every weekend without the big name promotions.

Obviously, RFA is a decent promotion and they put on their 32t event with two titles on the line.UFC vet Gilbert Smith put his Welterweight title on the line against another UTF vet in Bristol Marunde. The two octagon vets waged war for four rounds until an injury forced Marunde to stop fighting in the fourth round giving Smith a two fight winning streak. His overall record sits at 12-4 now.

Jocelyn Lybarger came into her title fight with three straight wins all under the RFA veteran, but she was taking on the ultra tough Zolia Frausto who was returning to a division she dominated. Unfortunately, Frausto had no chance of winning the title if she won the fight, because she missed weight. Now, none of that mattered as Lybarger put a beating not he former Bellator champion for five rounds on way to winning her title. Is it a matter of time until she makes the change to the UFC?

M-1 challenge also put on their own show and had some big matches as well. Middleweight prospect Adam Yandiev who won his 9th professional fight and fourth by submission. So far he has beaten and finished all his opponents all in the first round and only one took over three minutes.

Bellator veteran Vyacheslav Vasilevsky picked up his first win of 2015 which his loss in 2015 broke a nine fight winning streak. This pushed his record to 27-3 overall. Featherweight prospect Ivan Buchinger has picked up his ninth win over three years. in fact, his last loss came at the hands of interim Featherweight champion Conor McGregor. With a record of 30-4 which may mean a call up to the UFC or a bigger promotion sometime soon due to his success in the other organizations.
