“KenFlo” to face Jose Aldo for Featherweight title at UFC 136

The UFC announced that Kenny Florian would face Jose Aldo at UFC 136 for the UFC Featherweight championship on October 8th in Houston, Texas.
 

In a formal response following the announcement, Florian said, “I consider Jose Aldo one of the best fighters on the planet pound for pound.  I have been a fan of Aldo since I first saw him fight live while I was doing commentary for the WEC. His explosiveness, well-rounded game & experience make him the toughest challenge of my career. “
 

Florian added Aldo “poses a threat everywhere and I will have to prepare a perfect training camp for him.”
 

The fight is one of two title fights of the nights. Frankie Edgar will attempt to avenge his only loss and defend his UFC lightweight title, when he takes on Gray Maynard in the night’s co-main event.

Lightweight:
Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard (Title fight)

Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann
Jorge Santiago vs. Demian Maia
 

Heavyweight:
Dave ‘Pee Wee’ Herman vs. Mike Russow
